RAIPUR: Chhattisgarh governor Ramen Deka inaugurated a new Services Selection Board (SSB) Training Centre at Sainik School Ambikapur on Friday. This is Chhattisgarh's only SSB Training Centre and aims to prepare cadets for careers in the Armed Forces.
The Centre will provide cadets with the necessary skills and training for the SSB selection process, enhancing their chances of success. The governor also inaugurated an idol of Maa Saraswati, the Goddess of Knowledge and Wisdom, at the school’s Vikram Batra Block.
Governor Deka is the second Governor to visit the Sainik School, following former Governor Shekhar Dutt (Sena Medal). He was welcomed by the Principal, Colonel Reema Sobti, upon his arrival at the school, and a Guard of Honour was presented by the cadets.
The governor honoured school officers and staff members for their service, including Lt Col (Dr) P Sreenivas, Sqn Ldr James Nair, and mathematics teacher T. Malleshwar Rao.
In his address to the cadets and staff, the Governor praised the cadets' discipline and academic standards. He emphasised that the SSB Training Centre would provide essential skills and preparation for the selection processes, significantly improving the cadets' prospects.
He acknowledged the teachers' vital role in shaping the students' future. The Governor also recognised the dedication of the school staff, noting that their commitment inspires students to advance with discipline.
School Principal Colonel Reema Sobti presented a memento to the Governor. The Principal noted that the Governor’s visit underscores the Chhattisgarh govt’s commitment to supporting institutions like Sainik Schools, which prepare young individuals for service to the nation.
