Yogi Adityanath on Saturday visited Palia region of Lakhimpur Kheri to inspect channelisation work of the Sharda river.
During his visit, he addressed a public gathering, in which he reiterated the state's firm stance against terrorism. "There is no place for terrorism or disorder in a civilised society. This new India does not provoke anyone, but if provoked, it will not spare them," he said.
He credited improved law and order and modern infrastructure for UP's rise as one of India's leading state economies in the country. Highlighting key infrastructure developments, he pointed to the robust railway network, metro services in multiple cities, and the launch of India's first rapid rail system in the state. The CM also visited the forests of Dudhwa Tiger Reserve's campus, where he was welcomed by women of the Tharu community. He reviews various stalls and learned about the work of Tharu women and honoured achievers with certificates. He also explored exhibitions by the WWF and inspected equipment such as tranquiliser guns, trail cameras, and drones used for wildlife management.
Adityanath interacted with veterinarians and foreign tourists at the reserve and inquired about the arrangements. The tourists expressed satisfaction with the facilities. He instructed forest officials to ensure that all necessary amenities and facilities are provided. Meanwhile, at the Salukapur Elephant Camp, the CM named a baby elephant "Bhavani" and fed four elephants with bananas and fodder.
The visit was attended by several ministers and senior forest department officials.
