Steiner has himself revealed that he was about to get fired with his brother for playing a prank with WWE. Steiner admitted that things were better at first when he joined WWE but soon they started having monetary issues.

Recently, Scott Steiner appeared on the “Talk is Jericho” podcast, where he admitted that he always had the attitude of a rule-breaker, which got him into trouble. He shared that once he bullied the referee in WCW with his brother because they wanted to get fired from the WWE company as they weren't getting paid. Steiner continued that he went the extra mile with his brother to be freed of the WWE by playing pranks on the company.
"We weren't getting paid...so then we start getting frustrated, so then we started trying to get fired. The first thing, we were in an overseas tour, we're in Italy, and my brother said, you know, in the cafeteria, you know; food fight!", admitted Big Poppa Pump.

Hulk Hogan and Jim Duggan when his brother sprang quickly to grab their food. He recalled how they got so frustrated with WWE that they continued doing this for a long time.
"Then we did it again the next night at the building, there's just a bunch of food at the building, and the same thing: food fight again. After all that, I don't think – if they didn't catch then, they caught on when I requested a meeting with Vince which was a pretty touchy thing because that was after Nailz had choked him out, " mentioned Steiner.
