Wrestling Legend Goes Off on The Rock for Over-Explaining Plot Points After The Final Boss' Elimination Chamber Press Conference

Wrestling legend Jim Cornette criticizes The Rock for over-explaining plot points after the Elimination Chamber, arguing it detracts from the storyline's excitement. Cornette believes The Rock's detailed analysis during the press conference diminished the impact of John Cena's unexpected heel turn.

The Rock's Final Boss persona has been a point of contention among fans - especially after John Cena's shocking heel turn at the end of the Elimination Chamber. Some love the Boss, while others are still confused about what to think about him. The Rock, though, took his time to explain it all after the Elimination Chamber in a press conference and talked about what it's like to be The Final Boss. While many enjoyed his perspective on the matter, one person could not tolerate how he explained it all for the media, going off on the wrestling star following this.

Wrestling legend Jim Cornette goes off at The Rock

Though people liked The Rock and his recent Final Boss persona inside the ring, his tendency to explain every detail after his appearances is not something many people enjoy. And wrestling legend Jim Cornette is probably at the top of the list of these people. Recently, on The Jim Cornette Experience, the popular podcaster talked about The Rock’s press conference following Elimination Chamber. He was not a fan of how the star was explaining everything to the media, saying it took all the thrill out of the storyline.
Jim Cornette Reviews The Rock's Press Conference After WWE Elimination Chamber 2025

“You don’t blow that authenticity by analyzing it and how great you were to have thought of it and performed it so well 15 minutes later. I just—he’s putting me to sleep."
The whole point of creating and performing a storyline inside the ring becomes mute if we start to analyze and explain everything. And that was not at all appreciated by the wrestling veteran. He did not like the fact that The Rock over-explained everything during the press conference, and turned it into a snooze fest, his words.

Jim Cornette blames The Rock for ruining the moment

The Rock dissecting the whole John Cena heel turn moment in real-time took away some of its impact because of the over-analysis. With how shocking the moment in itself was, it lost some of its charm and excitement because The Rock took his time to talk about it in detail with the press. This ruined the moment for many, including Jim Cornette, for sure.
The Rock explains the nature of The Final Boss: Elimination Chamber 2025 Post-show highlights

“The angle itself may have been over, but the issue is not over."
This is, of course, true, as we don't have much to go on about how Cena's heel turn would affect the storyline. At least we didn't have anything until The Rock began analyzing and explaining it to the media. The moment when Cena came into the ring would have been much more exciting had things been kept under wraps completely. And although The Rock did not fully give out every detail, which would have probably killed the story and made Cornette even more mad, it still has lost some of its charm for many fans.
