'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' co-stars Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan to reunite after 17 years for a thriller - Report

After 17 years, the iconic duo of Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan are reuniting to bring their beloved on-screen chemistry back to life in a thrilling, edge-of-your-seat movie directed by the renowned filmmaker Priyadarshan.

A source informed Hindustan Times that Akshay and Saif have always enjoyed working with each other and admired each other’s work. The moment they read the script, they knew they were on board.
A Nail-Biting Thriller in the Making
Talking about the film, the source further revealed that it’s a nail-biting and entertaining thriller film. Helmed by Priyadarshan, it will leave the audiences on the edge of their seats. The movie goes on floors in August this year and is set to release in 2026.
Previous Collaborations
The last time Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan shared the screen was in the 2008 movie Tashan. Before that, they teamed up for a number of successful films, such as the cult favorites 'Main Khiladi Tu Anari' (1994), 'Yeh Dillagi' (1994), 'Tu Chor Main Sipahi' (1996), and 'Keemat' (1998).
Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan’s Reunion with ‘Bhoot Bangla’
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar is collaborating once again with Priyadarshan on their new project, 'Bhoot Bangla'. This film marks the much-awaited reunion of the actor and director after a gap of 14 years. Kumar and Priyadarshan are also uniting on 'Hera Pheri 3'. Talking about it, Akshay told Hindustan Times that Priyam has given all of them a fabulous surprise by offering to direct 'Hera Pheri 3'.
Saif Ali Khan last project
On the other hand, Saif Ali Khan was last seen in the Telugu action film 'Devara Part 1', which released theatrically on September 27, 2024. The film stars Jr NTR, Saif Ali Khan, and Janhvi Kapoor, and is directed by Koratala Siva. Saif plays the antagonist in this high-octane action drama that has been well received for its scale and performances.
