The idol, who is well known for being blunt, candid, and open about various topics, was recently seen addressing the topic of idols’ manners and greeting etiquette in the current entertainment industry.

Bang Chan recently held a live stream session to interact with fans and directly talk to them.The idol is regularly known for holding live streams under ‘Chan’s Room’. The idol spent the broadcast listening and reacting to K-Pop videos, all the while directly interacting with fans, as per Allkpop.During the live stream, Bang Chan started talking about manners, attitudes, and bowing, which caught the fans' attention. While being asked about Stray Kids’ performance in Paris, the idol shared what he thought about greetings and respect. He shared that while the experience of performing in Paris was amazing, there was also something that concerned him.He shared that “I don’t know if I just sound like a boomer… I feel like it’s come to the point where greeting someone is not considered basic manners.” He then clarified that rather than complaining and calling people out, he was sharing his experience on the matter. He talked about how he wasn’t greeted when he was interacting with people, and that bothered him. He also added that the latest generation are more open and casual about the formalities of greeting someone; however, the case was not the same for them.
He shared that “I’m not like cussing people out or anything, but I feel like I’m thinking too much about it because if you see someone walk by, you say annyeonghaseyo, then if they don’t reply back, you’d be like, ‘What the…okay.’ But I feel like it’s come to the point where this generation is allowed to do that, just not care, if that’s right.”

Bang Chan talks about overthinking and not receiving greetings from people

In relation to the previous issue, Bang Chan added that he had faced instances where even after he would greet someone respectfully, they wouldn’t reciprocate the gesture, leaving him to overthink his actions. He stated that “I guess there were a few scenarios where that would happen. At first, I was like, Okay, and then the more I thought about it, I was like, Maybe I am overexaggerating. Maybe I’m thinking too much about it. Maybe I’m a boomer.” He continued, sharing that “But I mean, from my perspective, whoever it is, I’m going to say hi the best I can because I am here to have fun and greet people I like and respect.”
