The nomadic community will get ration anywhere in Maharashtra, says Revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule

Maharashtra's Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule announced the organization of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajswa Samadhan Shibir to provide essential documents like caste certificates, Aadhar cards, and ration cards to the nomadic community. This initiative aims to ensure access to ration shops across the state and resolve long-standing issues faced by the community, including housing and identity documentation.

MUMBAI: Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Maharajswa Samadhan Shibir should be organized to provide various certificates including caste certificate, Aadhar card and ration cards to the nomadic community, said state revenue minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule. As a result, the community will be able to get ration cards from ration shops in different parts of the state.These decisions were taken at a meeting held at the Ministry under the chairmanship of Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on various issues of the nomadic community. The meeting was attended by Uddhavrao Kale, President of the Nomadic Community Development Council, and office bearers of the nomadic community in the state.Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule said , understanding the problems of the nomadic community, 15 issues have been resolved immediately. Last year, Diwali was celebrated on the backs of the nomadic community. The issue of their houses was resolved immediately. Therefore, in which district across the state, on which uncultivated land is the nomadic community settled. A plan should be submitted in this regard within fifteen days.Their issue will also be resolved immediately.The decisions taken for the nomadic community are as follows:
  • Caste certificate will be issued on house visit basis.
  • Caste certificates should be issued in schools and colleges according to the Mandangad pattern.
  • Those who do not have caste documents prior to 1961 should be given caste certificates based on home investigation.
  • Identity cards should be issued to wandering persons through the Deputy Tehsildar.
  • Camps should be organized to provide various certificates.
  • A proposal should be made to repeal the Habitual Offenders Act, 1952.
  • Alternative documents should be provided for Aadhaar card.
  • Instead of giving temporary ration cards, they should be given permanently.
  • Survey the nomadic community living on government or private land.
  • Ration cards should be provided to the nomadic community.
  • A caste-wise survey of the nomadic community will be conducted.
  • A settlement-wise list should be submitted for allotment of seats.
  • An Injustice and Atrocities Prevention and Protection Committee will be established and its meetings will be held.
