Former Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald has secured a temporary restraining order against Janelle Anwar, who he says has stalked, harassed, and threatened him and his family since 2020. According to court filings, Donald claims Anwar has sent unwanted messages, gifts, and even threatened the life of his 3-year-old son in a recent Google Chat.

Aaron Donald obtains restraining order against alleged stalker Janelle Anwar following threats

Aaron Donald, a three-time NFL Defensive Player of the Year, says he's never met Anwar. Despite this, court documents show she filed paperwork last month to end a marriage with Donald that never existed. In the filing, Anwar demanded monthly support payments of $1,500 and a divorce settlement totaling $6.5 million.
Donald reportedly discovered this through NFL security officials, describing Anwar’s behavior in court filings as “delusional.” He expressed serious concern, writing, “I fear that [her] delusions will lead to her attempting to harm me, my wife, my children, and my brother.”
Included in the court documents was evidence of her unusual conduct, like sending Donald a $5 Zelle payment captioned “I love you.”

Court orders Janelle Anwar to maintain 100-yard distance from Aaron Donald and his family

After reviewing Aaron Donald's evidence, the judge promptly granted a temporary restraining order. This order mandates Anwar to keep at least 100 yards away from Donald, his wife Erica, their two children together, and his two children from a previous relationship. Anwar is also banned from contacting Donald or possessing firearms.
A hearing is set for May 7, potentially leading to a longer-term restraining order if the judge sees fit.
Aaron Donald retired in March 2024, ending a 10-season NFL career where he became one of the league's most dominant defensive players. He earned Pro Bowl honors every year he played, won Defensive Player of the Year three times, and secured a Super Bowl victory with the Rams in 2022.
