"I think we have a chance" - Nikola Jokic refuses to lose hope and makes positive remarks despite Game 5 loss

He silenced the critics with his 44-15-5 performance after a period of slump, still his team couldn’t overpower the Thunder. Jokic expressed his thoughts on the Game 5 loss and was quite positive about the team’s chances in upcoming matchups.

Nikola Jokic returned to his form and scored 44-15-5 in Game 5, but even that couldn’t prevent the Denver Nuggets’ loss. Despite the loss, Jokic was quite hopeful of the team’s chances in the series. In the postgame presser, he discussed his viewpoint on various key moments of the game. When asked what interfered with their chances of winning the game, Jokic said:
“I think nothing. I think I think Adri had the open look. I think Jamal had open look. Uh Pa had a open look. I don't know. I think we had open look. It's not like if we turn the ball over, I think we had the open looks. We just didn't score, I think in in those moments..”

Talking further about his performance, Jokic said:“I mean the ball was going in. Uh I I made five threes tonight. That helps of course. Um, and I think I think the ball was going in and that was uh uh they were still they were still doing what they're doing and I think I just had um the ball was going in I will say.”

Nikola Jokic has not lost hope despite the loss and shared that they plan to play their best, not giving an easy win to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Talking about strategy for future games, he said:“Yeah, I mean we're not going to go and just give it give it them game six. I mean we are playing in front of our crowds crowds. I think only since game the second game was a kind of blowout and every every other game was kind of interesting game we were there. So I think we have a chance and uh we will we will play our best.”
When asked if the strategy of playing for the whole time in the fourth quarter changes the game’s outcome, he said:“Doesn't change.
